Second Phase of project underway

Just a quick update on what’s happening with Creative Modern Languages at the moment. The British Academy funded part of the project is ongoing - you can check out our open access hub with creative assessment and artistic research examples in ModLangs at www.creativemodernlanguages.uk. We’re happy to accept submissions to grow our best practice database!

On a related note, however, Dr Alex Mangold, our PI, has recently been awarded AberSEED/hefcw funding to develop his Creative Assessment approach further. He is now working towards developing Creative Assessment tools and CPD for teachers and schools in Wales, England, Scotland and beyond.

The project will explore teacher CPD and collaborative explorations with local authorities in Wales and England starting from September 2024. If your school would like to be involved in these cluster based workshops, Alex would love to hear from you.

The format of this newsletters will stay roughly the same, although the focus will now shift slightly onto the use and opportunities of creative assessment in key stages 2-4, in accordance with recent developments. We will keep you updated at least twice a year.
